About Nashville Singers: Nashville Singers, Inc. is a non-profit corporation and performing arts organization founded in 2008. The mission of Nashville Singers is to entertain, educate, unite and uplift our audiences and members through music that is distinguished for its innovation, diversity and artistic excellence. The philanthropic mission of Nashville Singers is to provide resources and support for music education in our schools and the community. The leadership mission of Nashville Singers is to seek, develop, use and enhance the skills and talents of each member to such an extent that progress seems limitless. Purpose: The Grant Writer position engages research, preparation, and submission of grant proposals to local, state, and federal entities as well as private foundations and corporate organizations. This is a part-time, contract position. The grant writer will complete most of work from home office.

Major Responsibilities:
A. Acquires and maintains sound knowledge and understanding of the organization, and uses that knowledge and understanding to produce well-conceived, compelling grant proposals, applications, and letters of inquiry for grant-making organizations.
B. Strategically researches grant-making organizations and identifies likely funding sources for specific projects and programs.
C. Reviews the budget of a project or program for which funding is sought and makes recommendations to better present it to grant-making organizations.
D. Research and identify new funding sources (federal, state, local, corporate, private foundations). E. Meet with Executive Director to strategically match prospective funding sources with existing and emerging program needs.
F. Work closely with Executive Director on conceiving and organizing grant applications.
G. Gather necessary input from Executive Director relating to program description and needs.
H. Draft inquiry letters and funding requests; submit to Executive Director for feedback; incorporate edits/changes.
I. Collect appendices, data, letters of support, memos of understanding, and budget materials for inclusion in proposal package.
J. Compose appropriate cover letters.
K. Complete submission process, i.e., collating, photocopying, packaging and mailing and/or electronic submission.
L. Track and generate grant updates and progress letters/reports for specific grants.
M. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Experience Necessary:
Hours: This is a short-term, part-time contract with a budget to accommodate between 40 to 66 hours of work over a four to six week period; most work will be done from home office.
Hourly Rate: Negotiable, depending on previous experience. This is a short-term, contract position. No benefits are provided.
